The landscape protection area valley areas of the Kleine Henne and side valleys between Löttmaringhausen and Löllinghausen with 28.3  hectares is located in the urban area of Meschede and in the Hochsauerlandkreis . The area was designated as a landscape protection area (LSG) in 1994 with the Meschede landscape plan by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis . The LSG is one of 102 landscape protection areas in the city of Meschede. In the city there is a landscape protection area of ​​type A, 51 landscape protection areas of type B and 50 landscape protection areas of type C. The landscape protection area valley areas of the Kleine Henne and side valleys between Löttmaringhausen and Löllinghausen has been designated as a landscape planning area of ​​type C, meadow valleys . The LSG is part of the Sauerland-Rothaargebirge nature park .

The LSG is located between Löttmaringhausen and Löllinghausen or south and southwest of Löllinghausen. In the LSG there is the Kleine Henne stream with grassland in the floodplain . The LSG borders directly on the L 740 in the south . The L 915 and the K 43 partly lead through the LSG or run along its edge.

Protection regulations

As in the other type C landscape protection areas in the Meschede landscape planning area, this LSG prohibits the conversion of grassland and fallow grassland into arable land or other forms of use. First afforestation and the creation of Christmas tree crops is prohibited. A maximum of two years of arable use within twelve years is permitted, provided that this prepares the renewal of the sward. This is considered an extended nursing shift . In the case of extended care changes , a minimum distance of five meters from the central water bed must be maintained.

Protection purpose

The designation was made to supplement the nature reserve designation of Meschede to create a network of open-land biotopes so that animals and plants retain the opportunity to migrate and spread, and to preserve the occurrence of protected bird species and the protection of species-rich plant communities.
