This article deals with the Reuss younger line from 1868–1871.

Parliament

The Reuss Younger Line Landtag was elected indirectly in four curiae:

  • 1 viril vote for the owner of the Reuss-Köstritzer Paragium
  • The owners of the 31 manors eligible for the state parliament elected 3 members
  • The cities elected representatives (Gera 3, Schleiz and Lobenstein 1 each, Tanna, Saalburg, Hirschberg together 1)
  • The rural population elected 3 MPs

The electors were elected on July 25, 1868 and August 19, 1868, those of the MPs and their deputies from August to October 1868.

State parliament commissioner was Emil von Beulwitz . Under the senior president Karl August Schmalz, the state parliament elected Julius Alberti as state parliament president . Hermann Ampach was elected as vice-president (from May 24, 1870 this was Hermann Seifarth). The secretary was Rudolph Müller. Theodor Landgrebe was the deputy secretary.

The Landtag met from November 24, 1868 to June 15, 1871 in 39 public plenary sessions with new session periods. The state parliament passed on June 14, 1871.
