State election in Lippe 1838
The state elections in Lippe in 1838 were the first elections in the Principality of Lippe to be carried out in accordance with the new electoral law of the Land constitution for the Principality of Lippe of July 6, 1836.
The vote
The Lippe state parliament of 1836 had approved the new constitution, according to which 21 members were elected in three curiae of seven members each. The knighthood, the citizens of the cities and the landowners of the villages and towns of the country each appointed seven members. The term of office was six years.
Exceptions were the representatives of the first estate, who were newly elected before the state parliament session (1838, 1840 and 1842).

The committee
The Landtag should meet for a Landtag session every two years. In the time between the state parliaments, a committee carried out the tasks of the state parliament, which was composed of one member from each curia. The Landtag elected Mr. von Stietencron for the first stand, Moritz Leopold Petri for the second stand and the office director Ballhorm-Rosen for the third stand. Court court auditor Dr. Roses chosen.
