The Lange-Grund is a side valley of the Rote Weißeritz near Dippoldiswalde in the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district . In the lower section it is a V-shaped valley , which as a part of since 1974 conservation area, the valley of the Red Weißeritz is shown.

location

Lange-Grund in the upper part

The side valley, which begins below the Aschenberg (Eastern Ore Mountains) (380 meters) and merges into the Seifersdorfer Grund at a railway bridge (built in 1910) , is called Lange-Grund . In the upper part, the Alte Meißner Straße and a field path cross the bottom. It lies mostly in the district of Seifersdorf .

history

In the upper section of the Alte Meißner Strasse there is a linden tree that was planted during the Seven Years' War and that has been struck by lightning several times. Not far from this is the last of several former ponds, which is fed by the water of the Langegrundbach. In the lower section, the Spechtritzer Leichenweg (Alte Spechtritzer Strasse) ran through it. In 2002, most of the area was afforested, after it was previously a meadow. The Aschenberg ( Middle High German Eschenberg ) is a field island on which ash trees, today wild cherries, stand. In 1785, the Lange Grund is designated on sheet 281 of the Berlin copy of the Saxon miles sheets .

Langegrundbach

Langegrundbach

The stream of the same name runs through the entire length of this part, except for the piped upper part, which has been converted into a field. At the confluence with the Weißeritz, the foundations of a sheet metal girder bridge of the old railway line, the Weißeritz Valley Railway, built in 1882 existed until the flood . In addition, part of the stream forms the boundary between Seifersdorf and Spechtritz .

geology

The ground consists mainly of gneiss rock, next to which white quartzite can also be found.

Landscape protection

On July 4, 1974, the lower section was placed under protection as part of the "Tal der Roten Weißeritz" conservation area.
