The Lange Renne (Lange Rinne) in the Mehr district of the city of Rees in North Rhine-Westphalia is a tributary of the Rhine . The oxbow lake has an area of 0.193 square kilometers with a maximum depth of 10.49 meters.
The southern part of the east bank forms the border to the Mehrhoog district of the city of Hamminkeln .
The origin of the Lange Renne is attributed to the shifting of the Rhine river, although more recently an artificial excavation during the early Roman presence on the right bank of the Rhine to create the Drusus Canal has been considered.
