The large stone grave Dolmen von Langholz is located about 500 m north of Langholz, on the eastern edge of the forest. Langholz belongs to the municipality of Waabs in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district in Schleswig-Holstein . The megalithic system of the funnel beaker culture (TBK) was created between 3500 and 2800 BC. Chr.
The chamber
The stone chamber facing north-south is in very good condition, restored in 1977.
It is a relatively small enlarged dolmen . The approximately 2 m × 1 m large chamber is formed in a rectangular shape from five supporting stones, in the south a low entry stone. It is covered with a capstone, its dimensions are 1.8 m × 1.5 m.
The complex was originally covered by a raised hill. The builders of such graves belonged to the so-called funnel cup culture.
In Ernst Sprockhoff's “Atlas of Germany's Megalithic Tombs” the dolmen is listed as “Sprockhoff 68”; there (1960) it is described as almost completely destroyed .
