Langitau (also: Lagitau ) is an island in the Tongan archipelago of Vavaʻu .

geography

Langitau is located just south of the center of the archipelago, between the islands of Vakaʻeitu and Lape . Together with Vakaʻeitu and Lape and with Nuapapu in the north, Langitau encloses the bay Matamaka , in which the islets Alinonga and Kulo lie together with the reef Tangatasito . The island of Ovaka connects to the south .

climate

The climate is tropical hot, but is tempered by constantly blowing winds. Like the other islands of the Vava'u group, Langitau is occasionally hit by cyclones .
