Lapteva Island (English; Bulgarian остров Лаптева ostrow Laptewa ) is a north-south orientation 900 m long and 880 m wide island 1 km off the north coast of Anvers Island in the Palmer Archipelago off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located 10.54 km northeast of Quinton Point , 1.5 km west-southwest of the Lajarte Islands , 8.93 km west of Cape Greenland and 3.38 km west to north of Oberbauer Point .

British scientists mapped them in 1980. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named them on 2013 after the Bulgarian geologist Gergana Laptewa, who was active in several campaigns at the St. Kliment Ohridski station from 2006 onwards.
