Larri Passos

Larri Passos (born December 30, 1957 in Rolante , Rio Grande do Sul ) is a former Brazilian tennis player . He was the trainer of Gustavo Kuerten and Tamira Paszek .

Passos started playing tennis in Novo Hamburgo , but realized early on that his skills as a coach were greater. As a teenager he gave tennis lessons and from 1975 was responsible for the tennis school of the Sociedade Aliança de Novo Hamburgo.

In 1990 Passos met Gustavo Kuerten, who was 14 at the time. He convinced his family of the talent and future prospects of young Gustavo and began to train him. In the following 15 years Kuerten celebrated 20 tournament victories in singles and won 8 double titles. In 2005 Kuerten and Passos went their separate ways, but since the beginning of 2006 Larri Passos has been coach of Kuerten again.
