Larry Abbott

Larry Abbott (* around 1900; † unknown) was an American jazz musician ( alto saxophone , clarinet , also kazoo , vocals ).

Abbott played in the 1920s with The Cotton Pickers (1924, with Frankie Trumbauer , Roy Johnston , Miff Mole and Rube Bloom ), Ray Miller and his Brunswick Orchestra, Billy Wynne's Greenwich Village Inn Orchestra (1925) and Harry Reser 's Six Jumping Jacks (“Jig Walk”, 1926) For Reser's band he also acted as a vocalist on two titles (“Look to the Mirror”, “Imagination”). Under his own name he played several titles in 1927, such as "I'm More Than Satisfied" (Okeh 41044, with Joe Venuti ). Together with Benny Goodman , Joe Tarto and Bob Effros he accompanied the singer Annette Hanshaw ("That's You Baby"). In the field of jazz he was involved in 291 recording sessions between 1922 and 1931. a. also with Herb Wiedoeft , Sam Lanin , Nathan Glantz , Vincent Lopez , Ben Selvin , Paul Specht , Bill Wirges , Bill Wynne , Lee Morse , Nat Shilkret , Victor Arden / Phil Ohman , Carson Robison and Irving Mills .
