Lars Gerike (born July 25, 1975 in Berlin ) is a German ice hockey player who has been active for the Königsborner JEC in the Oberliga West since the 2011/12 season .

Career

Gerike began his career in the Eisbären Berlin youth team, where he played in the junior team in 1994. A season later he was nominated for the first time for the professional squad and played three games in the German Ice Hockey League. For the 1996/97 season he joined the Herner EV, which was then a league lower, in the 1st League North was active. There he stayed until 1997, before he joined the EC Hannover during the current season, where he ended the season. In the summer of 1998 those responsible for the Schalker Haie were able to convince him of a commitment in Gelsenkirchen. With the Haien, Gerike showed his best performance so far and scored 18 points scorer in 33 league games.

Another year followed in Gelsenkirchen, before he joined the then league club Ratinger Ice Aliens in the 2000/01 season. The trained defender was able to improve again and was one of the top performers in the team. In the two years in which he was in the squad with the Ice Aliens, he was used in 93 games and scored 50 points scorer. The 2001-02 season , he initially spent in Herne EC, he was for ever between 1996 and 1998 active before he signed a contract in the summer of 2003 Revierlöwen Oberhausen signed. With the Revierlöwen he was able to move up to the third highest German ice hockey league, the Oberliga, in his first season. With 57 points in 52 games, Gerike played a major role in this success.

Gerike left the club at the end of the 2005/06 season after those responsible for the Revierlöwen fought for a long time for a license for the league, which they obtained by outsourcing the professional team to a GmbH, but in the end had to file for bankruptcy . The then 31-year-old returned to the Regionalliga NRW and from then on went on the ice for Lippe-Hockey-Hamm . Among the young stars he was one of the defenders with the highest points in the team. He was able to score 91 times in 47 games he played and was therefore an important part of the team. On December 19, 2008 Gerike moved to league competitor EHC Dortmund. With the Elchen he rose to the top division at the end of the 2008/09 season . However, the defensive player was suspended in the two final games against DEG Metro Stars 1b because he received a match penalty in the second semi-final .

At the beginning of July 2009, those responsible at Füchse Duisburg announced that they had signed Gerike. Gerike will be on the ice for the EVD in the 2009/10 season. There he made it to the top league with the foxes. In order to end his career, he moved back to his home town in Herne, to the Herner EV, for the 2010/2011 season within the league. With his experience he should be a support for the young players in the HEV team.
