Lars Hänel (born November 27, 1985 ) is a former German cross-country skier .

Lars Hänel was a sports soldier in the Bundeswehr , lives in Oberwiesenthal and started for the WSC Erzgebirge Oberwiesenthal . He made his international debut in 2003 as part of Continental Cup races. In Stryn he first appeared at the Junior World Championships and was seventh in the sprint. His first appearance in the World Cup was in February 2005 in a sprint in Reit im Winkl (67th). At the Junior World Championships in 2005 in Rovaniemi , Finland , he was 26th in the sprint. At the German Championships of the year he was eighth in the sprint. In the team sprint at the beginning of the 2007/08 season , he and his brother Erik Hänel took 25th place and thus Lars' best result in the World Cup and his first place in the World Cup points. He contested his last World Cup race on December 5, 2009 when he was 51st in the sprint in Düsseldorf . Then he ran for several years in lower-class competitions. From 2013 onwards he only took part in the Engadin Skimarathon several times . His last start there was in 2017.

After completing his studies, Lars Hänel works as a trainer at WSC Erzgebirge Oberwiesenthal.
