Lars Wesemann

Lars Wesemann (born February 29, 1964 ) is a German chemist . He is professor for inorganic chemistry at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen .

Education and career

Lars Wesemann studied chemistry at RWTH Aachen from 1983 to 1988 . After receiving his doctorate in 1990 in Gerhard E. Herberich's group in Aachen , Wesemann worked as a postdoc for one year in Dietmar Seyferth's group at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology . Following his habilitation in 1997 at RWTH Aachen University, he worked there as a private lecturer , followed by a substitute professorship at the University of Karlsruhe . From 1999 to 2003 Wesemann was a professor at the University of Cologne . Since 2003 he has held a W3 professorship for inorganic chemistry at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen.

Research areas

Lars Wesemann's main research interests include the chemistry of transition metal compounds as well as the synthesis of luminescent coordination compounds and their application in OLED technology. In addition, his group is researching the construction of cluster compounds and the development of new ligands for coordination chemistry.
