Lars Zimmer (born March 20, 1985 ) is a German biathlete who has specialized in cross-country summer biathlon after his career .

Lars Zimmer from SSV Altenberg made his debut in the European Junior Cup in Langdorf in winter 2004 and won both his first sprint and his first pursuit race. In 2006 he ran his first race in the men 's European Biathlon Cup and was 19 in Martell's sprint. In the mid-2000s, Zimmer switched from winter to summer biathlon. In 2009 he had his international breakthrough in this discipline. First he took part in the Summer Biathlon European Championships 2009 in Nové Město na Moravě and was there 26th in the sprint and 18th in the mass start. Later he also took part in the Summer Biathlon World Championships in Oberhof in 2009 and was there 22nd in the sprint and 19th in the pursuit. He also won the first race of the IBU Summer Cup 2009 in Bystřice pod Hostýnem . Zimmer's twin brother Jens was also a biathlete and successful in the juniors.
