Henri Eyebe Ayissi (born September 24, 1955 in Mbellè , Arrondissement Obala , Département Lekié , Province Center ) is a Cameroonian politician .

biography

After attending the Catholic Mission School of Obala and obtaining the university entrance qualification ( Baccalauréat ) at the seminary schools Saint-Joseph d'Akono in Mbalmayo and Sainte-Thérese de Mvolye in Yaoundé in 1973, he began studying law and economics at the University of Yaoundé , which he graduated with a licentiate in 1978 . He then began his doctorate in public law , which he completed in 1983. He also completed postgraduate studies in 1981 and 1987 at the National School of Administration and Magistrature (École Nationale d'Administration et de Magistrature).

He began his professional career in November 1981 as an employee of the State General Inspection. In September 1982 he entered the service of the then Prime Minister Paul Biya and, under his successors Bello Bouba Maigari and Luc Ayang , was head of the legal study service and deputy director for legislative and regulatory affairs until February 1984. Between August 1984 and September 1985 he was Head of the Department of Research and Regulations in the Ministry of Public Affairs, before he was then until January 1987 First Commissioner for Research in the Department of Legal Affairs of the Ministry of Planning and Territorial Development. On January 7, 1987, he was appointed Secretary of the Council of Ministers and thus one of the leading employees of President Paul Biya, who was also de facto Prime Minister between January 1984 and April 1991.

On December 7, 1990, he was appointed Minister for Urban Planning and Housing by President Biya to the government and kept this post under Sadou Hayatou and Simon Achidi Achu , the successors of Biya as Prime Minister. However, he lost this office as part of an extensive cabinet reshuffle on November 27, 1992.

In 1998 he was appointed Inspector General of Services of the Ministry of Higher Education and then Inspector General of Electoral Affairs in the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralization.

On September 7, 2007, after 15 years outside the government, he was finally appointed Foreign Minister to Ephraim Inoni's cabinet . He also assumed this office in the subsequent government of Yang Philemon . In the course of a comprehensive cabinet reshuffle, he was replaced by Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo on December 11, 2011 .
