The Larvik Cone is a 425 m high and distinctive scree cone on the south coast of South Georgia . It rises from the headland between Newark Bay and Jacobsen Bight .
Participants in a British expedition to South Georgia (1954–1955) carried out a rough mapping. They named the mountain as Larvik Peak after the nearby bay Larvik . The South Georgia Survey decided after a survey between 1956 and 1957 that the name used today better corresponds to the character of the mountain.
