The Laser World of Photonics (spelling: LASER World of PHOTONICS ) has been a leading global event in the laser and photonics industry for more than 40 years . The World of Photonics Congress, the meeting place for the international scientific elite, will take place parallel to the trade fair. The program includes five scientific conferences from the world's leading organizations. In addition, the trade fair in Munich offers practice-oriented series of lectures on the fields of application of light as a tool for new technologies. The trade fair and congress offer a world-leading mix of research and industry.

About the fair

The Laser World of Photonics has been organized by Messe München every two years since 1973. In 2019, the Laser World of Photonics took place from June 24th to 27th, the next date will be June 21st to 24th, 2021.

In 2017 it achieved a record number of exhibitors with 1,293 exhibitors from 42 countries and registered 32,700 trade visitors from 70 countries. A good 3,500 people took part in the congress, and more than 2,700 lectures and presentations including poster presentations were offered.

In 2019, a new record was set with 1,325 exhibitors (from 40 countries) and 34,000 visitors, 60% of them from abroad (although the number of visitors from the USA and Asia increased).

Managers, developers and employees from production, construction, design, quality management, sales and purchasing are visitors to the event. Furthermore, the fair is aimed at all industries that use laser and photonics technologies as well as scientists and developers from universities and research institutes.

The Laser World of Photonics forms an international network with the annual regional trade fairs "Laser World of Photonics China" (Shanghai) and "Laser World of Photonics India" (alternating in Mumbai, Bangalore, New Delhi).
