A laser-guided bomb , also known as a “smart bomb”, hits its target, which is marked by target illumination , precisely and safely through regulated , aerodynamic influencing of the flight path.

Laser marking can be carried out from separate units, e.g. B. be set by helicopters, airplanes, drones or ground units. The system is not a bomb, but rather a complement to most types of bombs. The attachment consists of the seeker head (shown in the picture) and controllable guide fins. However, in poor visibility conditions, the sensor cannot detect the marking.
