The Latarnia rock ( English , Polish Skałka Latarnia , Lantern rock ' ) is a surf pillars of basalt on King George Iceland in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It rises on Shag Point not far from the Polish Arctowski station .
Polish scientists named it in 1980 after the Arctowski lighthouse built here .
