Late Night Venture is a Danish post-rock / post-metal band from Copenhagen . The band has released three studio albums so far.

history

The band was founded in 2005 by guitarist Søren Hartvig. Other founding members were Jens Back ( bass ), Jonas Qvelsel ( keyboard ) and Peter Sørensen ( drums ). A year later the band released their self-titled debut album via Quatermain Records, which was produced by Jonas Jørgensen. The EP Illuminations followed in 2010 and the single Birmingham in 2011. In the meantime, drummer Peter Sørensen left the band and was replaced by Peter Falk.

In 2012 the band released their second studio album Pioneers of Spaceflight on Target Records . The album marked the beginning of an album trilogy on the subject of space and was produced by Magnus Lindberg, the drummer of the band Cult of Luna . Numerous concerts in Europe followed. In 2015 the guitarist Peter Olsen left the band and was replaced by Michael Schilling. Late Night Venture released their third studio album, Tychonians , in October 2015 . The album was produced by Lasse Ballade. The title refers to the Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe .

style

The band played indie rock on their first album and changed the style to post-rock and post-metal with their second album, Pioneers of Spaceflight . The third album Tychonians contains elements from the styles Doom Metal , Sludge and Stoner Rock .
