Lateolabrax is a genus of perch-related fish found in the sea around Japan , on the coasts of South Korea, and in the East and South China Seas .
features
The two species of the genus can reach a maximum length of about one meter, but usually remain much smaller. The maximum weight is 8.7 to 9.1 kg. Your dorsal fin has 12 to 15 spines and 12 to 14 soft rays, the anal fin has three spines and seven to nine soft rays.
Fins formula : dorsal XII – XV / 12–14, anal III / 7–9.
Way of life
The fish live in very agitated water on the coasts, young fish also penetrate rivers, but always return to the sea to spawn. Young fish feed on zooplankton, older fish on shrimp and smaller fish. Like many perch relatives, they are so-called protogynous hermaphrodites, after reaching sexual maturity they are initially female and change their sex to male at the age of two. They spawn in the deeper zones of rock reefs or sheltered bays during winter.
External system
