Paul Hisao Yasuda

Paul Hisao Yasuda ( Japanese パ ウ ロ 安 田 久 雄 , Pauro Yasuda Hisao ; born December 20, 1921 in Kurume ; † April 23, 2016 ) was a Japanese clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Osaka .

Life

Paul Hisao Yasuda was ordained a priest on May 21, 1955 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on February 5, 1970 auxiliary bishop in Osaka and titular bishop of Tucci . The Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Japan, Archbishop Bruno Wüstenberg , donated him episcopal ordination on March 21 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Paul Yoshigorō Taguchi , Archbishop of Osaka, and Paul Yoshiyuki Furuya , Bishop of Kyoto .

He was appointed Archbishop of Osaka on November 15, 1978 by Pope John Paul II . On May 10, 1997, John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
