The Laternula Lake is a lake on the Ingrid Christensen Coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth country . In the Vestfold Mountains , it is 1 km south-southwest of Clear Lake on the Mule Peninsula .
A team of geologists and biologists visited him in January 1972 as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions . They named it after the shells of Laternula elliptica , a species of Antarctic clam found here .
