Latinitas Sinica ( Chinese 拉丁 语言 文化 中心 , Pinyin Lādīng Yǔyán Wénhuà Zhōngxīn ) is an institute of the National Research Center for Sinology Abroad of the Beijing Foreign Language University .
The institute specializes in the study and promotion of the Latin language and is the first Latin study center in China.
Latinitas Sinica organizes Latin summer courses and maintains contacts with institutions outside of China that focus on classical antiquity. The Faculty of Christian and Classical Literature in Rome deserves special mention.
Latinitas Sinica also organizes singing performances for Latin songs such as Gaudeamus igitur ; Panis angelicus and the Latin version of the European anthem .
One of the advisors to Latinitas Sinica is the Austrian Latinist Leopold Leeb , who studied at the Chinese People's University a . a. Latin , Ancient Greek , Biblical Hebrew and literary history teaches.
The current director is the Italian theologian and sinologist Michele Ferrero , who published a Chinese Latin grammar for Chinese students in 2014: "拉丁语 基础 教程Lingua Latina ad Sinenses Discipulos Accomodata ".
