Latinitas viva

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term Latinitas viva ( Living Latin ) describes a movement that began in the late 19th century and actively promoted the active use of the Latin language orally and in writing. The Latin Vicipaedia is a fruit of this international movement. In Germany, the Benedictine monk Caelestis Eichenseer (1924-2008) was one of the propagators of the active use of the Latin language with the magazine Vox Latina, which he co-founded in 1965 . Of Christian workers originating Lexicon auxiliaries , of Karl Egger , head of the Officium Latinum the Roman Curia , comes the Lexicon Recentis Latinitatis . Wilfried Stroh is currently one of the most active neo-Latinists.

There are also radio broadcasts in Latin called Nuntii Latini ("Latin News").
