The Latok II is a 7108  m high peak of the Latok group in Panmah Muztagh in the Karakoram .

location

The Latok II is a summit of the Latok group in the north of the Skardu district . It is located 2 km southwest of Latok I , to which a mountain ridge leads. In between there is a 6680  m high saddle. On the southeast flank of Latok II lies the Latok Cirque at the upper end of the Latok Glacier , a tributary glacier of the Baintha-Lukpar Glacier and part of the Biafoglacier system . On the northern flank, the Choktoi Glacier flows in an easterly direction.

Ascent history

An Italian expedition climbed the Latok II for the first time in 1977. The expedition participants Ezio Alimonta, Renato Valentini and Toni Masé reached the summit on August 28th. The ascent route ran from Latok Cirque over the south ridge and south summit to the main summit.
