The Grenzach-Wyhlen transmitter was a filler transmitter of the Südwestrundfunk (SWR) for the distribution of VHF radio and analog television. It was located in the south of the Grenzach-Wyhlen community in an industrial area, approx. 300 m from the German-Swiss border. The antenna support was a 110-meter-high steel lattice mast, which was guyed in two levels with a triangular cross-section and which apparently came from the 1950s. It is unclear why such an elaborate antenna carrier was used for such a small filling transmitter.
The transmitter was switched off on December 12, 2006 and the severely dilapidated transmission mast was broken off. The radio programs can still be received in the Grenzach-Wyhlen region from the St. Chrischona television tower .
