history

In the years 1857 to 1863, the Fatherland Archive for the Duchy of Lauenburg, edited by Carl Lorenz Sachau, was published .

Twenty-one years later, the Association for the History of the Duchy of Lauenburg , founded in Mölln in 1883, published the archive series of the Association for the History of the Duchy of Lauenburg under the editorship of Walther Dührsen . Until shortly before the First World War, it published articles of considerable scientific value. Historical research and interest in history were thus placed on a broad basis.

This series was not continued after the war. For this purpose, the Lauenburgische Heimat appeared in Ratzeburg from 1925 to 1940 as a magazine of the Heimatbund Duchy of Lauenburg founded in 1925 , edited by Bruno Raute and Hans Ferdinand Gerhard .

After the merger of the Heimatbund and the older history association in 1949, the Lauenburgische Heimat has appeared in a new design and form since 1950 .

The booklets represent a valuable treasure trove for the processing of regional history in the Duchy of Lauenburg district. The Duchy of Lauenburg District Museum in Ratzeburg offers an index of the magazine issues published so far. The updated keyword index now includes all issues / special volumes from 1857–2003.
