Laura Tătulescu

Laura Tătulescu (* 1981 in Bridgeport , Connecticut ) is a Romanian - American opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

She studied violin and singing at the National Music University in Bucharest . She has won numerous prizes at various singing competitions and made her role debut as Marguerite in Faust at the Opera Națională Bucureşti in June 2004 .

In the years 2005 to 2008 Laura Tătulescu made numerous appearances in operas, oratorios and concert events and can refer to a number of recordings. In 2005/2006 the artist received a grant from the WAZ media group.

On November 29, 2005 Laura Tătulescu introduced herself to the audience of the Vienna State Opera as Giannetta in L'elisir d'amore . Since then she sang Pamina and Papagena in Die Zauberflöte , Barbarina and Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro , Despina in Così fan tutte , Ida in Die Fledermaus , Tebaldo in Don Carlos , Bastienne in Bastien and Bastienne , Xenia in Boris Godunow , Sophie in Werther , Mascha / Chloë in Queen of Spades .

In 2008 she made her Los Angeles Opera debut as Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi , a production directed by Woody Allen and conducted by James Conlon . Since the 2009 season she can be heard at the Bavarian State Opera as Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro and since 2010 as Marzelline in Fidelio .
