Laura de Zwart (born March 19, 1999 in Gorinchem , Netherlands ) is a Dutch volleyball player in the middle block position, who will be under contract with VfB Suhl LOTTO Thuringia from the 2020/21 season .

Career

De Zwart started playing volleyball at the age of eight. She played in the youth teams of Groot Ammerse VC WIK before moving to Talent Team Papendal Arnhem in 2015 . The middle blocker was active there until 2018. During this time she was also used for the country's youth national teams. Since 2017 she has also been part of the extended circle of the Dutch national women's volleyball team . With this she collected u. a. international experience at the 2017 European Women's Volleyball Championship , where the team won the silver medal. In the 2017/18 season she was injured due to meniscus operations on both knees and was therefore not used. For the 2018/19 season she moved to Eurosped TopVolleybal Twente .

In May 2019, Dresdner SC announced the commitment of Laura de Zwart. In Dresden, where she was supposed to strengthen the middle block around Ivana Mrdak and Camilla Weitzel , she signed a two-year contract. With the club, she managed to win the DVV Cup 2019/20. At the end of June 2020, her contract in Dresden was terminated prematurely, followed by a change from de Zwart to Bundesliga competitor VfB Suhl LOTTO Thuringia .
