Laureano Vallenilla Lanz (politician)
Laureano Vallenilla Lanz Planchart (born August 6, 1912 in Paris , † August 31, 1973 in St. Moritz ) was a Venezuelan politician .
Career
Vallenilla Lanz received her doctorate in political science from the Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV) in 1938 . In the interim government of President Marcos Pérez Jiménez , he was Minister of the Interior from December 1952 . In this role, he expanded the regime's repressive institutions. After his fall in January 1958, he went into political exile , first to Brazil , the Dominican Republic , France and finally Switzerland , where he died on August 31, 1973 in Saint Moritz.
