We Faw Down ( dt . We fall on the nose ) is an American short film comedy starring Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy in 1928. The first performance took place on December 29, 1928 German premiere was on December 4, 1930 under the Title "Dick und Do (o) f on the wrong track".

action

Stan and Olli say goodbye to their wives. You let them think they are going to a show theater. In truth, they go against the will of their wives to play poker. When the wives learn that the intended theater burned down that very evening, they are filled with wistful remorse for the usual rudeness with which they had treated their spouses. Stan and Olli, unaware of this process, fell into the mud on their way home from a poker night, whereupon two easy girls take care of them and take them to their apartment. There they are first harassed by the girl's lover. Finally, their wives armed with rifles appear, who, converted from their error, become vengeful again instead of repentant. With their shotguns, alongside their own, they put an army of renegade husbands to flight, leaping scantily out of various windows.

Others

We Faw Down performed two gag ideas that were revisited in later feature films. On the one hand, the breakout of the everyday marriage by deceiving the wives, which became the basic framework in Sons of the desert ( The Sons of the Desert ). On the other hand, the final gag of the unfaithful husbands chased out of the windows by the gun women , which - slightly modified and staged worse - was used again as the final gag of blockheads ( Die Klotzköpfe ). The film also ran under the alternative title We Slip Up . In Germany, he got the alternative titles Dick und Doof auf Abwegen or Im Strudel der Gosse (TV), or We stumble .
