Laurence Jones (blues musician)
Laurence Jones (born February 13, 1992 in Liverpool ) is a British blues rock guitarist, singer and songwriter.
Life
Jones grew up in Stratford-upon-Avon . At the age of seven he received classical guitar lessons; However, he met his role models through his father's record collection: the Groundhogs , Jimi Hendrix , Eric Clapton , Stevie Ray Vaughan and Rory Gallagher .
As a teenager he had his first band called "Free Beer", at 17 he founded the "Laurence Jones Band". He began studying music at the University of Birmingham , which he broke off in favor of a tour with Johnny Winter and Walter Trout . In 2012 his debut album Thunder in the Sky was released . He toured with Wishbone Ash , Tony McPhee and others, got a contract with Ruf Records and released his second album Temptation in 2014 , with Walter Trout and Aynsley Lister as guest musicians.
In 2014 Jones was on the road in Europe with the Blues Caravan . In the years 2014 to 2016 he received a British Blues Award as “Young Artist of the Year”, and in 2016 also in the category “Guitarist of the Year”. In 2015, the third studio album, What's It Gonna Be , was released, and a tour with King King gave Jones his final breakthrough.
