The Raiffeisenbank Volkacher Mainschleife - Wiesentheid eG is a cooperative bank based in Volkach in Lower Franconia . In addition to the main office in Volkach, the bank has another main office in Wiesentheid . The business area extends across the north of the Kitzingen district and parts of the Schweinfurt and Würzburg districts .

history

In 1866 the first so-called Creditverein Prichsenstadt was founded in Prichsenstadt. It was the first of its kind in the region. In 1879, another credit association was established in Wiesenbronn. Other credit and loan associations followed by 1922. On January 17, 1881, the Obereisenheim loan association, and the Volkach loan association on December 8, 1893, was established. A total of 19 such associations came into being in what is now the Raiffeisenbank's business area.

The largest of these associations was the Creditverein Prichsenstadt, which in 1900 already included places in the Rhön and the Tauber . With inflation in Germany and the global economic crisis , several banks were closed in 1931 as a result of emergency statutory regulations. After the crisis, the region's loan association associations began to merge in order to generate larger deposits. A first merger took place between Altenschönbach and Kirchschönbach in 1937.

After the Second World War , the company name of the loan funds was changed in 1948 to “Raiffeisenkasse”. Again, several mergers of smaller banks followed. In 1967 a paying office of the Raiffeisenkasse Abtswind opened in Wiesentheid. With the resolution of the General Assembly in 1974, the companies traded as “Raiffeisenbank”. In 2004 the Raiffeisen banks Volkach eG Mainschleifenbank and Wiesentheid und Umgebung eG merged. The most recent merger took place in 2018, when the Raiffeisenbank Fränkisches Weinland eG Escherndorf-Sommerach-Nordheim, based in Nordheim, was merged with the Raiffeisenbank Volkach - Wiesentheid eG. The bank's company changed to Raiffeisenbank Volkacher Mainschleife - Wiesentheid eG .

Offices

The bank has a total of two main offices and fifteen branches. Most of them can be found in the north of the Kitzingen district . There are also branches in Prosselsheim and Eisenheim in the northeastern district of Würzburg, as well as in Kolitzheim and Wipfeld in the southern district of Schweinfurt.
