Prosselsheim is a municipality in the Lower Franconian district of Würzburg and a member of the Estenfeld administrative community .

Geographical location
Prosselsheim is located in the Würzburg region east of the Main on the fertile Gäu plateau of the Maindreieck and around 16 kilometers northeast of Würzburg.
Community structure
The municipality is divided into four districts (the type of settlement in brackets):
- Gut Seligenstadt (officially Seligenstadt )
- Prosselsheim ( parish village )
- Püssensheim ( Kirchdorf )
- Seligenstadt near Würzburg (village)
There are the districts Prosselsheim, Püssensheim and Seligenstadt.
history
Until the church is planted
There are already traces of settlement from the linear ceramicists (4500 BC) from the Neolithic Age . Prosselsheim was first mentioned in a document in 742. The former Oberamt of the Hochstift Würzburg , to which it belonged since 903, was part of the Franconian Empire from 1500 . After the secularization in 1803 it was in favor of Bavaria in 1805 Archduke Ferdinand III. left by Tuscany to form the Grand Duchy of Würzburg and finally fell to Bavaria in 1814. In 1818 the political municipality was established.
Incorporations
Prosselsheim belonged to the district of Kitzingen . On July 1, 1971, the previously independent municipality of Püssensheim was incorporated. In the course of the district reform , the community came to the district of Würzburg on July 1, 1972.

In 2006 there were 21 births out of a population of 1218. This made the birth rate of over 17.2 births per 1000 inhabitants (after Lohkirchen ) the second highest in Bavaria.

Mayoress
Birgit Börger ( CSU ) has been the honorary mayor since May 1, 2014 . She was re-elected on March 15, 2020 with a turnout of 69.5% with 91.0% of the votes. The other mayors will be Rainer Landauer and Bernhard Friedrich from May 2020.
Municipal council
In the municipal council election on March 15, 2020 , the following distribution of seats resulted:
- CSU / Prosselsheim citizen block: 4 seats (4313 votes)
- Free voter group Prosselsheim : 3 seats (3791 votes)
- Citizens' bloc Püssensheim : 3 seats (3481 votes)
- Social voter community Seligenstadt: 2 seats (1982 votes)
Of the 928 eligible voters, 645 cast their vote (turnout 69.5%).

The description of the municipal coat of arms introduced in 1969 reads: "In silver a sloping red knife, below on the right a blue label with a silver sloping bar, which is covered with three blue rings."
Attractions
- Church of St. Bartholomew , built in 1614, with a so-called Julius Echter tower ; the church was baroque in the 18th century .
- Official winery, planned by Balthasar Neumann in 1753

In 2017, the municipality achieved a total of 948,000 euros in tax revenue. Of this, 151,000 euros were net trade tax receipts and 659,000 euros were the municipality's share of income tax.
In 2017 there were 29 jobs subject to social security contributions in the municipality. Of the resident population, 522 people were in employment subject to compulsory insurance. This means that the number of out-commuters was 493 more than that of in-commuters. 8 residents were unemployed. In 2016 there were 21 farms.
In Seligenstadt there is the largest property in Bavaria operated by the Juliusspital Würzburg, with an area of around 600 hectares. A branch of the Raiffeisenbank Volkacher Mainschleife - Wiesentheid exists in town.
traffic
Prosselsheim is at the intersection of state roads 2260 and 2270 . The Seligenstadt stop (near Würzburg) is on the Bamberg – Rottendorf railway line , while Prosselsheim station is on a branch line, the Mainschleifenbahn .

The most important club is the gymnastics and sports club Prosselsheim e. V with over 500 members and a wide range of sporting (football, table tennis, gymnastics, mass sports) and social offers.
