Irtenberg Forest
Irtenberger Wald is a district in the district of Würzburg and is predominantly uninhabited, community-free forest area. A small portion of the area belongs to the municipality of Kist . The area is named after Irtenberg , a district of Kist.
Together with the Guttenberg Forest , the Irtenberg Forest is designated as a 3,994.01 hectare FFH area.
geography
The Irtenberger Forest is located about ten kilometers southwest of the city of Würzburg , and borders the communities Altertheim , Helmstadt , Waldbüttelbrunn , Waldbrunn , Eisingen , Kist and Kleinrinderfeld in the district of Würzburg and Großrinderfeld in the Main-Tauber district of Baden-Württemberg , where the area has over 380 m increases. The size of the area is 14.82 km².
Between the municipalities of Waldbüttelbrunn, Eisingen and Waldbrunn lies the Probstforst, which is also part of the Irtenberger Forest. It is mainly separated from the main area by the municipality of Waldbrunn.
The Federal Motorway 3 and the Federal Motorway 81 as well as the Romantic Road run through the Irtenberg Forest .
