Ashprihanal Pekka Aalto

Ashprihanal Pekka Aalto (born August 27, 1970 , Finland ) is an ultra marathon runner . He started running as a hobby at the age of 25. He works as a courier. Ashprihanal is a disciple of the Indian guru Sri Chinmoy . In 2006 the Finnish President Tarja Halonen awarded him the title “International Ambassador of Sport”.

Career

Since 2006 he has held the second-best time of the 3100 mile race. Aalto finished the One Day 24 hour endurance race in San Francisco in 2006 with over 201 km. He is a three-time winner of The Self-Transcendence Six Day Race in New York City (1208 km in six days). Within three years he ran all three annual multi-day races (six day race, 3100 mile race, 700 miles). He has won the world's longest certified run, the Self-Transcendence 3100 Mile Race, nine times. In 2015 he set the course record with a time of 40 days 09:06:21 and an average of 123.55 kilometers run per day.
