Greußenheim is a municipality in the Lower Franconian district of Würzburg .

Greußenheim is located 15 kilometers northwest of Würzburg in a valley basin.

etymology
The original field name is based on the Old High German word gruzzi or grûz , which means grain of sand. He went from the hallway to the town. The second part of the name -heim is secondary and was only expanded in the 17th century.

Until the church is planted
As part of the Würzburg monastery , Greußenheim came to the Counts of Löwenstein-Wertheim in the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss 1803 . From 1500 both belonged to the Franconian Empire . In 1806 it became part of the Steinfeld Media Office in Baden , which was ceded to Austria in 1816. In the recession of Frankfurt in 1819 it fell to Bavaria and formed there as a political municipality.

In the local elections on March 15, 2020, Karin Kuhn (Citizen Center Greußenheim) was re-elected with 75.71% of the vote. She has been honorary mayor since May 1, 2014.

The commercial area Untere Mühle and Untere Mühle II is located between Greußenheim and Bundesstraße 8 , with a close driveway to Bundesautobahn 3 .
The Greußenheim trade show takes place regularly in the industrial area.
According to official statistics, there were 524 employees at the place of work in the manufacturing sector and 174 in the trade and transport sector. In other economic areas, 96 people were employed at the place of work subject to social security contributions.
