history
Until the church is planted
It is documented that there was already a "Pirchanafelt in pago Waldsasse" in 788. It was mentioned in connection with the extensive donation of Matton from the Waldsassengau to the imperial abbey of Fulda of Count Matto and his brother Mengingoz. The Imperial Abbey of Fulda under Abbot Sturmi (us) received two parts as a gift in the village of Pirchanafelt. Mattone Mengingaud was bishop of Würzburg from the beginning of 754 to January 769, then abbot in the Neustadt monastery until his death on September 26, 783. His relatives bequeathed the Mattonen property in Birkenfeld to the Fulda monastery in 788. During the time of the tribal duchies , the place was in the Duchy of Franconia .
In addition to the Count von Rieneck (up to 1337) and the Würzburg Monastery, the Premonstratensian Monastery in Oberzell and, since 1164, the Naumburg Monastery in association with the Würzburg Monastery had property, incline, tithes and torrent rights. The secular landlords were the Schecken von Homburg in 1199, the lords of Westernburg before 1342 and since 1348 the lords of Witzstadt. From time immemorial, rights and goods were owned by the Bailiffs von Rieneck and the Counts von Wertheim. The males von Kollenberg and at the beginning of the 16th century the families Steigerwald, Loos and von Kottwitz are also mentioned in a document. The Würzburg monasteries Neumünster, Agnetenkloster and Himmelspforten as well as the Schönau monastery near Gemünden around 1320, Sankt Burkardus in Würzburg and the Bronnbach an der Tauber monastery are also mentioned.
In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .
