history

Until the church is planted

Schollbrunn belonged to the Grafschaft Wertheim of the Counts Löwenstein-Wertheim until the 19th century . The county belonged to the Franconian Empire between 1500 and 1806 . In the course of mediatization , Schollbrunn fell to the Prince-Primary State in 1806 and to the Grand Duchy of Frankfurt in 1810. There it was in 1812 including two courtyards, three mills and the former Karthaus Grünau with 94 campfire sites and 494 inhabitants as Mairie in the Triefenstein district of the Aschaffenburg department. Maire was Peter Pfenning. The Catholic school teacher was called Johann Geis and the Protestant PJ Nitschky. In 1814 Schollbrunn fell to the Kingdom of Bavaria with the Triefenstein District Fair . In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .

Administrative history

In 1862 the district office of Marktheidenfeld was formed, on whose administrative area Schollbrunn was located. In 1939, as everywhere in the German Reich, the designation district was introduced. Schollbrunn was now one of the 47 communities in the Marktheidenfeld district . With the dissolution of this district, Schollbrunn became part of the newly formed district of Mittelmain on July 1, 1972, which ten months later received its final name, district of Main-Spessart .

The Burg Reinstein , family seat of the Lords of Reinstein , a Ministerialengeschlecht the Bishopric of Würzburg from the 12th to the 16th century, was a spur castle , probably from the 13th century, and was on the southern spur of Rehberg in today's Scholl Brunner district (formerly Michel Riether Forst ) above the Haslochbach valley in southern Spessart north of the Nickelsmühle.

Schollbrunn Wildlife Park

The wildlife park, which was created by Widukind Rüppel in the 1960s, is particularly known for its rich red deer population. The so-called "Hasenstab-Hirsch", a capital 20-Ender, was the main attraction of the enclosure. The stag died unexpectedly at the end of 2011 and was buried by animal rights activists from the area. An exhibition of the antlers is planned from the beginning of July 2012 in the Charterhouse Grünau . In July 2012 it became known that the deer died of an inflammation in the intestine ( enteritis ).

Schollbrunner field cross

A field cross was erected on the Kropfbrunn hill in 1981 on the occasion of the 175th anniversary of the first documented mention of Schollbrunn . It is located in the immediate vicinity of the Schollbrunn Wildlife Park and is a popular destination for hikers and tourists. Since 2001, a Catholic Easter service has been held here every year.

Mill valley Hasloch

The valley of the Haslochbach and its tributaries used to have six mills , of which the horror mill is still in operation today. The other mills are now used as a restaurant or guesthouse. The valley, which is used for local recreation and hiking , is crossed by the Spessart cultural trail, Mühlenstraße Haseltal . The remains of Reinstein Castle are located in the middle of the area, between Schreckenmühle and Nickelsmühle . The ruins of the Markus chapel are located next to the cutting mill . The former Grünau Charterhouse is located at the Kropfbach tributary .
