Until the church is planted

Most of the former Aura office in the sense ground of the Würzburg Monastery , which belonged to the Franconian Empire , fell to the Principality of Aschaffenburg in 1808 (first to Bavaria in 1803, to the Grand Duchy of Würzburg in 1805 ). In 1812 Mittelinn belonged to the Grand Duchy of Frankfurt and was located with 40 fireplaces and 480 souls in the Altengronau district of the Hanau department and with the Emrichsthaler glassworks, a brickworks, 58 fireplaces and 555 souls in the Burgjoss district of the sub-prefectur Orb in the Aschaffenburg department. In 1814 it came to Bavaria . Local rights of the Electorate of Hesse-Kassel fell to Bavaria in 1860. In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .

Administrative history

In 1862 the district office Gemünden am Main was formed, on whose administrative area Mittelinn was located. In 1872 the Gemünden District Office was incorporated into the Lohr am Main District Office . It was not until 1902 that the Gemünden District Office was re-established. In 1939, as everywhere in the German Reich, the designation district was introduced. Mittelinn was then one of the 27 communities in the district of Gemünden am Main . With the dissolution of the district of Gemünden am Main on July 1, 1972, Mittelinn came to the newly formed district of Mittelmain, which was given its final name, district Main-Spessart , ten months later .

coat of arms

Blazon : Divided and split at the top by red and gold, in front three silver tips, behind diagonally crossed two red official staffs; below in green a golden mill wheel, covered by a silver wave pole.

The three lowered silver tips indicate that it belongs to the Würzburg monastery. The crossed bars represent the function of the place as the seat of a special tithe court. Since the 15th century, the rulership and court rights were exercised jointly by several rulers, there was a so-called four-man rule. Important rulers were the lords of Thüngen and the lords of Hutten. The colors gold and red, both of which have noble coats of arms, remind us of this. The crossed bars in the municipal coat of arms also represent the Bavarian-Hessian condominium district (rulership area), which was formed at the beginning of the 19th century and existed until 1866, to which middle sense belonged. The wave pile and the mill wheel symbolize the river Sinn with its mills. The color green stands for the agricultural character of the municipality as well as for the geographical location of the municipality between the Rhön and Spessart (see geography). The coat of arms was designed by Alfred Pauly (Mittelinn). It was approved on July 26, 1984.
