In the capital Würzburg, the Vizedom was the highest official of the state rulership.

In 1685 Würzburg finally acquired state sovereignty over the office of Theres von Bamberg. The office was the secular domain of the Theres monastery . Würzburg had bailiwick rights in the Maßbach office .

From 1691 to 1732 Würzburg owned the Electoral Palatinate Office Boxberg as pledge for 80,000 guilders. In 1732 the pledge was redeemed.

1631 to 1634

During the Thirty Years' War the office was under the Swedish or Saxon-Weimar government from 1631 to 1634 (see Duchy of Franconia # Modern Times ). Organizationally, the Hochstift was divided into main teams . These were:
