history

As part of the Arnstein tithe, Binsbach was subject to the jurisdiction of the Würzburg monastery . In 1644 the place had 20 hearths and a church according to the hall book , in 1870 225 inhabitants were counted. The rococo church of St. James the Elder dates from 1733. The high altar contains parts from around 1670 and 1740. In 1981 a complete renovation was completed, and in 1997 the interior was renovated again.

Until about the 1970s, Binsbach was an agriculturally oriented village. There were also two large quarries where sandstone was mined until the 1950s . On January 1, 1972, Binsbach became a district of Arnstein as part of the municipal reform .
