Schwebenried is a district or a district of the city of Arnstein in the Lower Franconian district of Main-Spessart in Bavaria and, with its 815 inhabitants, is ranked 1 of the 11 districts of the municipality of Arnstein.

geography

Schwebenried lies at an altitude of 303  m above sea level. NN . Schwebenried borders a total of seven neighboring communities. Five of them belong to the district of Schweinfurt : Burghausen , Schwemmelsbach (municipality of Wasserlosen ), Kaisten (municipality of Wasserlosen), Vasbühl and Schraudenbach. Only in a westerly and north-westerly direction do the roads continue into the Main-Spessart district to the Altbessingen district and the town of Arnstein.

On May 1, 1978, the previously independent community was incorporated into the city of Arnstein.

    • 1651: First mention of a “dwelling called the school house” in an appraisal book. It is also mentioned that the schoolhouse suffered a lot from the war and suggests that Schwebenried already had a schoolhouse before the war around 1618.
    • 1783: Construction of the school house with a classroom, a parish hall and a courtroom.
    • 1857: New school building and parallel operation of the old and the new school.
    • 1886: Construction of a new classroom. The merger of the two schools into one was not carried out and two teachers continued to work in Schwebenried.
    • In the following years until 1938 there were no major changes in the school operation. From the teachers' records it can be seen that there were usually two classes.
    • 1946: Establishment of a third school post. The council room above the large school hall served as the classroom.
    • August 1, 1964: Foundation of the Schwebenried-Altbessingen Association School.
    • December 4, 1965: Inauguration of the school and move to the new school
    • From August 1, 1969, the elementary school was named Volksschule (Verbandsschule) Schwebenried and included the school locations Altbessingen, Büchold, Kaisten and Schwebenried.
    • On August 1st, 1970 Schwebenried became a primary school for Altbessingen, Büchold, Kaisten and Schwebenried.
    • August 1, 1973: incorporation of Burghausen , Neubessingen and Wülfershausen into the school association.
    • After the regional and community reform, the name of the school was renamed Volksschule Arnstein-Schwebenried, Verbandsschule- (elementary school) .
    • 1984: Completion of the outdoor sports facility and the playground.
    • 1991–1993: Reconstruction and extension of the school including a new gym, outdoor sports facility and playground.
