Neighboring towns are in the north Rütschenhausen , in the northeast Brebersdorf , in the southeast Egenhausen, in the south Vasbühl, in the southwest Schwebenried , in the west Burghausen , in the northwest Schwemmelsbach and Wülfershausen . The Franconian Marienweg runs through Kaisten .

Kaisten was first mentioned in a document in 1050.
On May 1, 1978, the previously independent community was incorporated into the Wasserlosen community.
