Hattersdorf is a district of the Upper Franconian town of Seßlach in the Coburg district .

geography

Hattersdorf is about twelve kilometers southwest of Coburg on the right of the Rodach . The state road 2204 from Seßlach to Dietersdorf leads past the place. About a kilometer to the north is the uninhabited wasteland of Aumühle .

history

The first documentary mention as "Hartiratisdorf" was between 1087 and 1102 in the context of wheat deliveries for the Bamberg Cathedral monastery. The next mention was made in 1135. Another mention was in 1291, when the Langheim monastery acquired a Hube in Harttersdorf. The property in Langheim was administered by the Tambach monastery office .

In January 1806, Count Joseph Carl took possession of the Tambacher Lande, to which Hattersdorf also belonged, as an imperial county of Ortenburg-Tambach . In October 1806 the county was mediatized . From December 1806 to 1814, Hattersdorf belonged to the Grand Duchy of Würzburg as part of the Tambacher Land . After its dissolution, the Tambach Lordship Court was assigned to the Mainkreis . In 1862, Hattersdorf was incorporated into the newly created Bavarian District Office in Staffelstein .

In 1875 the village had 171 inhabitants, 76 buildings and 32 houses. 176 people lived in the community, consisting of Hattersdorf and Aumühle, of whom 158 belonged to the parish of the Roman Catholic parish church in Seßlach and 18 to that of the Evangelical Lutheran parish church in Heiligersdorf. In 1925 the village had 151 inhabitants and 30 houses. 156 people lived in the community, of whom 134 were Roman Catholic and 22 were Evangelical Lutheran. In 1987 the village had 130 inhabitants and 32 houses with 40 apartments.

On July 1, 1972, the Staffelstein district was dissolved. Since then, Hattersdorf has been part of the Coburg district . In the course of the Bavarian territorial reform , Hattersdorf lost its independence as a municipality on January 1, 1978 and, like its district Aumühle, became part of the city of Seßlach. The Aumühle, first mentioned around 1419–1420, was demolished at the end of the 20th century.
