Ilmspan is one of four districts of the community Großrinderfeld in the Main-Tauber district in Baden-Württemberg .

geography

Ilmspan is about four kilometers west of Großrinderfeld. The Großrinderfelder district of Schönfeld follows about a kilometer to the northwest .

history

The place name was first mentioned in the 14th century. In 1367 there was talk of Ilmspunt , 1401 of Ylmespuendt and 1540 of Ilmispundt .

On December 31, 1972, Ilmspan was incorporated into Großrinderfeld.

The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Laurentius is in the center of Ilmspan. This is assigned to the pastoral care unit Großrinderfeld-Werbach of the deanery Tauberbischofsheim .
