Honorary citizen

The community Großrinderfeld (or its districts as old communities) granted honorary citizenship to the following people who have made a special contribution to the good or reputation of the community:

Honorary citizen of the old communities

  • Emmanuel Kern (born July 9, 1883; † January 9, 1963), priest and honorary citizen of the old parish of Ilmspan, took over the parish of Ilmspan in autumn 1944 as the last stage in his eventful life. He worked as a pastor in Ilmspan for 18 years until he died a sudden death. In his memory there is now Dr.-Kern-Gasse in Ilmspan. At the same time, Kern had co-administered the neighboring parish of Schönfeld for several years.

Honorary citizen of the community Großrinderfeld

  • Willi Koch (born May 9, 1921; † 2016), awarded in March 1984, ordained a priest on May 31, 1953, from 1959 he became pastor of Gerchsheim, co-founder of the Tauberbischofsheim welfare station, celebrated his diamond jubilee in 2013.
  • Josef Kühner († 2011); awarded on June 23, 1989; Pastor in Schönfeld, Ilmspan and Krensheim; in Schönfeld a street was named after him.

  • Thomas Endres (born September 12, 1969), fencer , who became German champion and won an Olympic silver medal with the foil team in 1988. Endres grew up in Großrinderfeld and still lives there today.

  • Count Ludwig von Rieneck , who left the bailiwick and some income from Großrinderfeld to the Aschaffenburg monastery in 1312.
  • Herren von Zobel , the Franconian noble family can be proven in Großrinderfeld since 1384.
