Duttenbrunn is a district of the Markt Zellingen in the Main-Spessart district in Bavaria .

geography

Duttenbrunn is about 7 km west of Zellingen, on the state road 2437 from Zellingen to Urspringen . To the north is the village of Stadelhofen , south of Billingshausen . On the western edge of the springs Kettlichsgraben , a true source of Bach Karbaches .

history

On May 1, 1978, Duttenbrunn was incorporated into the Zellingen market as part of the municipal reform.

Place name

The original name "Tuotenbrunn" probably goes back to the words "dead" and "fountain". It means "Totenbrunn" and is a well that has dried up. In cold winters or very hot summers, the village had no water and had to make do with the springs in the neighboring village of Urspringen.
