Gemeinfeld is a district of the Lower Franconian community of Burgpreppach in the Haßberge district .
Geographical location
Gemeinfeld is located northeast of Burgpreppach.
The B 303 runs south-east of Gemeinfeld in a north-east-south-west direction . The town is connected to Burgpreppach and the B 303 to the south and east.
From Gemeinfeld, the district road HAS 40 leads west to Birkach .
history
The first known documentary mention of the place comes from June 10, 1231 as a fiefdom of Würzburg, but it is certain that the place already existed around 1000.
In 1434 the parish of Gemeinfeld was established with the branches Fitzendorf , Birkach , Leuzendorf , Ueschersdorf , Erlsdorf , Sulzbach (today part of Hofheim in Lower Franconia ), Greßelgrund and Ditterswind (today parts of Maroldsweisach )
The parish church of the Birth of Mary was built in the 18th century under architect Balthasar Neumann ; it was consecrated on July 28, 1744 by the Würzburg auxiliary bishop Johann Bernhard Mayer.
On July 1, 1972, Gemeinfeld became part of Burgpreppach as part of the municipal reform.
